Its time to shape up!
After a year of pre & post wedding celebrations, a 6 week European jaunt (you've seen some of the food pics i posted!) & recently a month of not being allowed to do any exercise at all after having my appendix out, it's time to whip myself into shape! Im putting this out there so i can stay accountable (as i tend to stray from these things!). I've signed up to give the Michelle Bridges 12 week body transformation a go. We are generally pretty healthy in our household (hello have you seen how fit & lean my husband is!) but i do tend to put work, chores...and, well a lot of things, before getting out & excercising as much as i should. Annnd might be partial to a wine and randomly picking at things while I'm working at home. So here goes nothing - wish me luck (and please remind me to stick to the plan!)

Healthy Inspiration!
Post wedding ive been feeling more motivated (than pre wedding - go figure!) to get fit & healthy. I think all the stress of wedding planning & starting my own business ended up meaning i drank more (wine seems to calm the nerves!) & didn't make enough time for exercise (or make it a priority). With the epic cycling tour we have planned for our honeymoon....ahem...its called 'Climbs of the Tour de France' & is 9 days in the French Alps (im slightly afraid!), i REALLY need to crack down & get super fit. This morning i started my day with an hour jog with a few hills & need to make sure i get on my bike at least 3 times a week. Ben & i are also going to get back into our hot yoga & try to go twice a week. Just sat down to see this post from Louise over at Table Tonic which has left me feeling super inspired!! Infact almost every day she posts some kind of yum salad or juice recipe....! Today she has come across Lorna Janes blog Move, Nourish, Believe - thanks for the tip off - ill be heading over there right now..... & might stick some of these piccies on my fridge! Most piccies below re-posted from Table Tonic & a few i found on my quick trip over to move nourish believe - thanks for the inspiration!

Detox - update
Its been one week since i made my delcaration of 'detoxing'! I have survived the week with no wine (or any other alcohol) and have got beack into the hot yoga! 2 classes this week - has been really good! And trying a vinyasa flow hot class rather than my ususal Bikram which is a nice change (& a bloody hard workout too!) I have had these divine images of Alessandra Ambrosio (victorias secret model) from French 'Elle' magazine in my inspiration file for a while - really does encourgae you to get to your yoga studio doesnt it!?
Tonight im off to see a natropath reccomended by a friend. For years ive been feeling...well...tired! I rarely wake up refreshed & constantly feel a bit 'dull'.....you know a tad on the 'plump' side & just not 100%? Hope she'll be able to shed some light on it all. Im diabetic (type one) so my blood sugars do have alot to do with it, but thought couldnt hurt to try something new! If nothing else it will be intersting as i have never seen a natropath before - have any of you guys? How have you found it? Worthwhile?

Detox
Detox. I need to do this!
Not like a full on 'only drink lemon & water 'detox, but more eating less carbs, drinking less wine, eating less cheese & eating more fruit, veggies & water...& doing more exercise & getting fresh air!
The last few weeks have been crazy at work, then crazy organising for our party (then a good hangover to go with that!). Bens brother & his wife surprised us by coming over from Seattle for our party which was awesome & meant a whirlwind week of late nights out & tonnes of good food & wine.....which has left me feeling a little depleted! So from today i have decided to go on an alcohol ban for 8 weeks (except for the night the tour de france starts where i'll allow myself a few red wines!), get bak into the hot yoga & generally try to control the 'naughty stuff' yes that means you carbs & cheese! I think the cold weather & being inside a lot can make you feel a bit 'blah' too! So now that ive put it out there ill hopefully stick to it....
Do you guys ever feel like this? Whats your strategy?? Any good books you've read? Here are a few piccies that inspire me to live & eat 'cleaner'.
