My Favourite 'Block' Bathroom

Is everyone watching the new season of the Block?
Every year i am more & more impressed with the bathroom design.
{well most of them anyway, theres always one shocker!}
Although i think if they revealed the cost of the build for the bathrooms people would be surprised.
The fittings & fixtures they use tend to be fairly high end & certainly not suited to a budget bathroom renovation!

Daz & Dee's bathroom from last season is one of my all time favourites!
Its classic, simple yet striking & uses beautiful, quality materials & fixtures in a way thats not over the top.
Understated glamour at its best!

The Block - Best block bathroom ever?

I tend to watch the block just for the room reveal nights these days.
Boy was i impressed with the bathrooms last night. ESPECIALLY this one!
Kyal & kara really nailed it on this. I was with Neale who said 'there was nothing he could fault'.
The tiles, the tapware, the bath, the lighting....AMAZING!
My only 'thing' would be that i probably would have made the mirror over the vanity a cabinet for extra storage...other than that, love it!

The Block 'All Stars' finale!

I must admit i haven't been able to watch as much of this season as i have others
(we have a scheduling conflict - the husband is addicted to My Kitchen Rules!).
Two if the rooms that i liked the best have belonged to Josh & Jenna - they did the most amazing bathroom & kitchen.
2 of the most important rooms in the house in my opinion!
 So i wonder who will win tonight?!

The Block - Powder rooms

I deal with quite a few tricky bathroom spaces in my work - so i was quite impressed with what the contestants on The Block managed to do with the very small under stair space last week! I think its a perfect spot for a powder room! I also liked how Dale / Sophie & Dan / Danni left the wall of exposed brick (although they could have done with a small spot of colour!). Most of the products are from Reece & you can check out the list of products used on The Block Website!

The Block

So - who do you think will win the block this year? I have to say i havent been that impressed with it overall but the finished results are pretty impressive!

Katrina & Amy
My Favorite room of theirs was the dining area & living I though the kitchen was too small for what they could have done with the space though

Rod & Tania - the front looks amazing & their back deck & spa was also pretty great!

I thin k Josh & Jenna might take it out actually - couldnt stand their fighting but i loved their final result - the exteroir is so cute & they have a fantastic kitchen!

Poll & Waz were slow starters to say the least - their first room was TERRIBLE! But i think they did a good job in the end! And they were such a funny couple to watch aswell! My favorute room of theirs was the master bedroom (ima bit of a bandit for good joinery!) and the curtains are really nice & luxurious too!

The Block - Who will win?!

 'The Block' finishes tonight! I have been loving this show!
 In terms of the renovations, i think they have all done a great job but Jake & Erin probably do have that wow factor - but only if you like black & white! Shame about their cheating! Have to say im a little disspointed that the Sydney Morning Heald decided to publish an article today telling us some info about tonights episode that would have been nicer to see for ourselves!!

The other (non surprise ruining ) info in the article was ;
In early marketing, potential buyers were advised the apartments would fetch more than $900,000. The invitation-only auction was held under tight security at Vaucluse House.
Channel Nine's New South Head Road block was bought for $3.4 million with vendor finance this year, with $160,000 in stamp duty. It underwent a quick update before the contestants had 52 days and $80,000 to renovate their apartments. John and Neisha in apartment one spent $95,000. Mark and Duncan, the two tradies in apartment two, spent $90,000. Erin and Jake spent $94,853 in apartment three, which has the block's highest strata fee. Cheryl and Brenton in apartment four spent $89,974. Another $100,000 was spent on improving common areas. The Vaucluse unit market has not been strong. The suburb has achieved an $800,000 average price for a three-bedroom unit so far this year, according to Australian Property Monitors, compared with $888,000 in 2009.
