Dining Chair Dilemma

Im having a chair dilemma for my new place.
{Always the way when its for yourself!}
I have always wanted upholstered chairs a bit like this.....

But we are going with a round dining table & want 6 chairs & they simply wont fit!
Recently I've become obsessed with Malawi chairs {thanks Manyara home!}
But i also don't think 6 of those will fit either!

The husband just came out to look at some things with me & he likes the good old cross backs.
They are a classic & you cant go too wrong, but something in me is wondering if they are boring??
What are your thoughts?!

Dining room art....& my blog header!

I think you all know what i am so drawn to this image! I just wish i had had the $$ to snap up one of these prints from 20 x 200 when they were still available in this size! Id like to deck out my dining room exactly like this - also loving the hydrangeas & crystal glasses!

Samantha Pynn Design

If there was one designer where i could look at their work & say now THAT is my style, it would be Samantha Pynn! Here style is lush but not over the top & uses fantastic combinations of colours, textures & furniture/homewares!

Starting with this bachelor pad -
i think my man would approve of this!

Loving all the elements of this room!
The cowhide really finishes it off too!

See wallpaper can be masculine!

Great neutrals

Blue & green should never be seen doesn't really apply here!

Love a bit of imperial trellis!

Loooovvvee this kitchen nook! How amazing is the blue!
And the bench seat is a great idea too!

And now Samanthas own home! Isnt this entry soooo divine!!
Somewhere to store your shoes/bags, a little seat to take them off & a mirror for last minute checks before walking out the door! A mirror will also make a small entry feel bigger too!

I really love the soft grey wall colours & the simple photo walls she uses that really make your photos into a stylish design feature! The pops of pink are gorg too! By the way im pretty sure these are ikea ribba frames, so very easy to re create this look!

In this picture i am obsessing over the solid timber 'log' as a side table...might need to add one of these to my place!

Loving the pale pink chairs!

A stool that looks like a giant ginger jar! Perfection!

This is her home office - can you beleive it!

What a smart looking kids room! Love it!

& here im loving the colour of the wall, the sideboard & the pendant! bliss! To see more head to her website Samantha Pynn xx

More Real Living inspirations

Here are 2 more images that ive spied in Real Living magazine lately that have inspired me!
Particulary with our tiny dining space (read squished between the back of the lounge & the kitchen island in a bout a 2m x 2.5m gap space!). We ended up buying a white tulip table & white panton chairs. We now need a sidebaord for storage & to hide the 'clutter'.....
Im loving the look in this picture on the left of the white chairs against the rustic timber sideboard.
This look has got me quite inspired! I have been trawling ebay for a sideboard & found a great one at Stone Pony in Sydney that i showed in this post.

Now this picture really got me thinking....maybe the wishbone chairs would have looked better with the white table....or a timber table with my white chairs.......oh indecision! Basically i think these two photos show how a bit of rustic + a bit of modern can look fantastic together! Or how good light timbers + white look together!

Oh & of course, in my opinion a kitchen or dining area just isnt complete without a pendant light or 3!
These are one of my (affordable) fav's (from Beacon Lighting), the Tama drum pendant. Love that solid timber bench& the stone clad collumns too! This would be a great casual dining table dont you think?? I can just see myself sitting up here with a coffee & my breaky!

Houston we have a dining table!

Happy Monday all!

After a great bargain on ebay on friday night (i got the table & the chairs for $235) we have a dining table!
Not exactly as glamouous as some of the pics i was inspired by, but if i see some great chairs i love more i can just whack these back on ebay
(seeing as the 3 panton chairs only cost me $103!).
Plus it fits without looking too cramped & the chairs are really comfy!
(sorry about the crappy photo - took it on my iphone!)

Image: Phoebe Howard
Great colours & fabrics

& ill take this chandeleir please!
looks great in such a casual looking room too!

I actually have this mirror & the table we are getting is the non-marble topped version of this tulip table.

ott flowers! Love it!
Image:House Beautiful Image: House Beautiful
Pretty much love everything here - the rug, the table, the colour of the curtains, the style & colour of the chairs, lighting, flowers...wow!
Great chandleier & colours.
Having different seating is a good idea to mix it up too!

Nothing to do with my dining room but lovely anyway!
I like the idea of taking the indoors out - theres no reason not to have a beautiful table setting lighting because your in the garden!

So today i need your help!

Since we bought & moved into our little one bedroom apartment we havent had a dining table or chairs! We have an outdoor set on the balcony, but in winter... not so good & eating on the couch every night is wearing a bit thin! We have a very small area to work with thats inbetween the back of our lounge & the kitchen island. I think i have decided on a white Tulip table (no marble top - apartment purchase = poverty).

Now for the chairs!............
I love the 'faux bamboo' look chairs but they are quite hard to find in Sydney & the ones i have found are around $300 each..a tad pricey! See image above in blue (i can get them powdercoated in any colour i like). They are actually outdoor chairs but i think would look fine indoors.

My other half likes white panton chairs which are only $100 so that could be an option too...decisions decsions!

Id love to hear your opinions & ideas!
If you have any ideas for great chairs you think would go with a white tulip table let me know!
