My latest 'go to' item - Round Sisal Rugs

An item thats been popping up in my work recently is a round sisal rug!

Gorgeous & warm in colour, with great texture. A round rug will also soften all the square lines in a room. 

Im loving the Armadillo & co 'Dandelion' rug at the moment!

Another one that I've been using, that is a bit more budget friendly, is the Freedom Madras rug

Personally i love both - so whichever i ask for i am going to be happy :)

Sarlat, France {our honeymoon snaps}

Its been almost a year since we left on our European honeymoon & i thought id share a few more of our pictures.

The next stop after Paris & The Loire Valley was the medieval town of Sarlat. 

You might laugh at me when i tell you i wanted to go here based purely on one image i saw on pinterest! 

Turns out the rest of the town was gorgeous too AND we hit the accommodation jackpot;

I found the gorgeous Les Cordeliers on Trip Advisor & when we walked in we couldn't quite believe it.

Run by an English couple the beautiful building had been fully restored & the rooms were enormous! 

Thats it below with the blue shutters, our room was the top level & was the whole first 3 windows from the corner. 

The best bit? Only $89 euro a night! 

I was in love with the hallway wallpaper before we even got into our room!

Sarlat & the region around it is the home of Foie Gras 

If you like duck or goose products this is the place for you! 

At all the restaurants we went to it was hard to find something on the menu without them.

On our first day we wandered around the town & found so many divine nooks!

The photo on the right is taken right where id seen the pinterest image & was just as beautiful in person!

On our second day, for something different, we decided to go canoeing on the Dordogne river.

We picked up a picnic at the market to take for lunch before we went.

Being outdoorsy types we loved it! You barely had to paddle at all & just got taken along by the river.

This was out lunch spot, as we came around a corner, perched up on the river bank was a castle! 

God i love France!

Then back into town for dinner (duck of course!) 

Duck A L'orange with potatoes cooked in duck fat (of course!)

...i wouldn't recommend this place if you are worried about the waist line!

...next stop Lyon & then down to the French Riviera for a week in Ville Franche!

Rope Bannister

I just love this idea for a bannister :)

I imagine it in a beautiful sea side cottage!

Waterford Crystal Illuminology Candles

Is there anything better than a great scented candle?

I would have once said no, but yes, there now is!

A great scented candle IN a Waterford Crystal Glass! I have died and gone to heaven!

Waterford have just released their Illuminology range.

I am a total sucker for crystal & these are just to die for! 

There are 4 different scents each in their own style of (very re useable!) crystal glass.

I know whats on my wish list :)

Sorry for the lack of posts in the last week - as we have been moving out of our little apartment. 

After 5 years & many great times, including becoming engaged & getting married, it was getting a tad small for us. 

Its been featured in both Real Living magazine & in the latest Adore Magazine - so many great memories! 

We sold it after only one day on the market & had a 4 week settlement.

Have been packing, moving & cleaning like crazy!!!

Ive woken up this morning with a cold - need to take it easier this week i think!

Here we are the day we exchanged contracts...

and last night...looking a bit sad! 

Onto bigger & more exciting things - stay tuned!

Living Room Inspiration

Im working on furnishing a few different living rooms for clients at the moment.

All very big spaces with the need for lots of different types of flexible seating & side tables etc.

Nutting out what combinations of pieces, fabrics, colours & textures are going to be winning classic, yet not boring combinations!

I wish it wasn't so cold in sydney so i could break out some summerly florals this weekend!

Its Easy Being Green {& black}

Ive just started to notice what a stylish / striking combination green & black can be!

In both fashion & interiors. its not a colour i use much in either but i think i might have to start experimenting with this combo!
