While we were in Seattle last November (after i checked out of the hospital) we seemed to manage to literally eat our way around (with some shopping thrown in)! I thought i'd share all these great places should you ever find yourself there! The food culture in Seattle is amazing, really inspiring, very much focussed on organic & local produce. Loved it. There are many many more, but here are a few we enjoyed. Must thank my brother & sister in law for introducing us to all these fab places- from take away to fine dining! So here goes...in no particular order.
A super cool french inspired cafe in Capitol Hill. Raw brick walls, a bar with liquor bottles to the ceiling, a counter with fresh pastries & amazing croissants that you have to get in early for! My other half loved the croque madame, i adored the lentils with poached egg & the mother in law the baguette with butter greens & sardines! Yummo!
An old school diner serving up classic pies! You'll feel like your back in the 50's!
I loved the pie jars - pies baked in mini mason jars!
We were sent here by Pam from
Red Ticking (its just across the street!) in Madison Valley.
My fav was Goats cheese & caramelised onion
We celebrated my first night out of hospital here - a bit of a difference to my intensive care meals!
The venue itself is amazing - huge floor to ceiling windows & a central wine cellar with a bar & spiral staircase wrapping around it. The salads were to die for, as was the grilled farmland pork chop!
Try a 'flight' of matched cheeses & wines as a starter & sea salt caramels for dessert!
We celebrated a friends birthday here with an amazing meal.
I loved the boat street pate with cornichons & prunes for appetizer.
The diner that was inspired by the street food served from their airstream that moves around the city!
Ben had maple braised pork belly served on a waffle with an egg on top! Crazy right!
Theres also a full bar with a focus on artisan cocktails!
Fun & atmospheric mexican restaurant that we visit on every trip to Seattle.
I am a massive fan of their margaritas - try the patron agave!
Pretty much everything on the menu is awesome if you need a mexican fix!
Right next to Pike place market - a good lunch stop where you'll find booth seating & a retro vibe!
We love their Clam Chowder & pecan pie.
Watch cheese being made in huge vats & do not leave without buying what they say is the worlds best mac & cheese - seriously yum! Grab a container to warm you up while you stroll around the pike place markets!
Yummy asian & sushi - another place we have been to both times we have visited!
We loved their agedashi tofu & the lemon walnut shrimp!
and a few doors down....
Amazing basque region inspired food
(there seems to be a lot of french inspired food in seattle!)
