European Honeymoon!
In all the excitement & planning of the wedding i quite often forget that this time next year i could be in Paris! Ever since we met 8 yrs ago we have said we will save our 'europe trip' for 'the honeymoon' - so thats what we are doing....& of course just to make thing interesting we will be cycling, well not all the time, but the bikes are coming lets put it that way!! At the moment the rough idea is France, Italy & Spain - and hopefully take in a few stages of the Tour De France along the way. Apart from cycling & of course the amazing scenery & atmosphere we cant wait to eat & drink our way around :) Id love all your suggestions of 'must see' places to go, stay & things to do! I have no idea how your supposed to plan a wedding & an epic trip to Europe at the same time! :)
We cant wait to picnic under the eiffel tower!
and enjoy morning coffees on balconies such as these!

Afternoon teas at spots like these!
and perhaps evening drinks on a rooftop wearing this!

Laundry perfection!
Who says laundries have to be that messy junky room where all your unfolded washing & other assorted random stuff lives! I think every room in the house should be one you like to spend time in - the owner of this room certainly agrees! Can you say AMAAAAAZZZING! I love the topiary trees & the big jars for washing powder...and pretty much everything really!

Dining room art....& my blog header!
I think you all know what i am so drawn to this image! I just wish i had had the $$ to snap up one of these prints from 20 x 200 when they were still available in this size! Id like to deck out my dining room exactly like this - also loving the hydrangeas & crystal glasses!

Lifes to short!
Loved this quote i saw from Drew Barrymore - i think we should all take this approach a bit more! If you want something you have to go out & make it happen - you cant sit around hoping for it to come to you! Yeah! wooo!

my new toy! Woohoo
Look what just arrived on my doorstep! The new iPAD2!!! I have been tossing up about getting an i pad for over a year & finally decided to reward myself & get one! Eeeekkkkk im so excited to go home & play with it! Just hope i can work out how to use it - just like a giant iphone (with no phone) right?!
The Simple Things Studio
Im SUPER excited that after much deliberation (just call me anal) we have booked our wedding photographer! I am sooooo excited for Marissa of The Simple Things Studio to shoot our wedding! She has the most gorgeous style & a real 'eye' for beautiful landscape shots i think (which we love as we are outdoorsy types & a lot of our wedding will be outside)! Here are a few of her shots, but as she's starting to get published in lots of mags i couldnt put too many up here so go have a squizz on her blog for lots more! I found her through The Lane, which is a great new Australian wedding website & directory, thats just a little bit different from the 'norm'! Think 'Vogue meets weddings', but with amazing laid back aussie style..

Bohemian Girls room
Loving this little girls room i saw over on Oh Dee Oh. Take away a few of the toys (and a bigger bed might be handy!) & id quite like it for myself! The venetian mirrors, puffs & the pink pattern (i think possible a Madeline Weinrib rug?) get me every time!
infact i already have the pouff! A birthday pressie from my mates from Table Tonic! AND at the moment everything is 25% off, so nows the time to grab one for yourself if youve been thinking about it!

Summer/Winter nails
Winter......
Or for a variation how cool is this...look carefully - the nails are matte & the tips are glossy!
Via So Beaucoup
Vs Summer.....
pretty!!
Im a bit of a bandit for black polish in winter - my choice is OPI Lincoln Park After Dark, is a very dark purple that appears black! If you've been thinking about going dark for winter give it a go!

South Coast Winter Weekend
We are heading down to the NSW south coast today for the weekend!
Staying at my parents cabin - last time we were there it was 47 degreees (celcius!!) AND we got engaged! (lots of piccies in this post!) This time we were going for a mountain bike race....which has just been cancelled due to the horrible weather, but we are still going to go anyway! We are meeting our wedding celebrant today, which im really quite excited about & going to do a bit of a hotel reccie for places to suggest to our guests. This time instead of chilled champagne & swimming in the lake i think it might be more mulled wine with the fire going! Yummo! Oh & i have also booked us in to go for lunch at Rick Steins Bannisters (where we went with our parents the night after we got engaged & had the most ammaaaazing seafood meal!) so really looking forward to that again! Its a bit pricey but was totally worth it! Here is my veriosn of mulled wine - give it a go - a bit like hot sangria!
2 unwaxed oranges
1 lemon, peel only
150g caster sugar
5 cloves, plus extra for garnish
5 cardamom pods, bruised
1 cinnamon stick
2 bottles of fruity red wine
1. Peel and juice 1 orange, and add to a large saucepan along with the lemon peel, sugar and spices. Add enough wine to just cover the sugar, and heat gently until the sugar has dissolved, stirring occasionally. Bring to the boil and cook for 5 – 8 minutes until you have a thick syrup.
2. Meanwhile, if you’re serving the mulled wine immediately, stud the second orange with 6 vertical lines of cloves, and then cut into segments to use as a garnish.
3. Turn the heat down, and pour the rest of the wine into the saucepan. Gently heat through and serve with the orange segments as a garnish.
Kick back by the fire & enjoy! yuuuum!

Engagement party flowers!
So i have FINALLY got all my photos onto the computer from our engagement party a few weeks ago! Thought id share them across a few posts! First up the flowers! I love flowers so any chance to get out to the markets & make up some arrangements really excites me! On the friday before the party mum picked me up at 5:30am & we headed out to Flemington! We did a quick 'reccie' & then decided we'd go for lots of different colored roses & then couldn't resist grabbing some bunches of Kale too!
Our haul in the boot!
at home laying it all out to work out what to mix with what!
The roses i picked up ranged from $3.50 to $8 a bunch. The big pink ones on the right of this picture were the $8 ones & were stunning!
My other absolute favorites were the big fluffy pale yellow roses on the right below, can you believe these were only $3.50 a bunch! Crazy.
The $3.50 yellow roses - l.o.v.e
This was 3 bunches of Kale for the grand total of $21 all up! And we picked up the white tin bucket from one of the suppies stalls - only $9! Think ill be getting a few more of these to use at the wedding somehow! We had this bucket at the front door with big vanilla scented candles coming down the front stairs (& managed to not get a single photo of all of this set up!!! ggrrr)
After about an hour of arranging........
I think these mixes were my fav - pale yellow, pink & ivory roses!
Gorgeous!!
We then spread them out all over the house! And the day after mum & nanna both took a vase home & i took one to work! They lasted about 4-5 days before stating to look a bit shabby, but i think if i was a bit more diligent about changing the water & cutting the stems they might have lasted longer!
My Tips for the flower markets...
They are open monday/wednesday/friday & saturday.
Parking is $8 & free on saturday.
This is the same market florists buy from so get there early! The website sys its open till 9am but by 7am alot of stalls are a;ready packed up - I usually get there about 6-6:15am, but they are already well underway by then (prepare for a bit of a crowd!)
Dont be scared to talk to the stall holders as most are really friendly & happy to give you suggestions!
Take cash - this makes it a lot easier!
Do a bit of a walk around to get an idea of whats in season, what looks good on the day & prices, then go crazy ;)
oh & also if you feel like a great coffee or spot of breaky after your shopping there is an awesome italian place a few warehouses down...cant remember what its called but ask someone to point you in the right direction!
