Lonny Magazine!

Ok, i know pretty much everyone who reads design blogs knows about this little gem! But its US based & im sure i have alot of Australian readers who are yet to discover the joys of Lonny!

Lonny is the brainchild of Michelle Adams, the ex editor of Domino magazine & is a completely online interiors magazine! Thats right people, you can have it open on your desktop & browse in between spreadsheets! Just make sure you can click back to that excel doc when the boss comes your way!

Its a faily new venture with the 3rd edition just out!
So jump on the bandwagon!
Enjoy a few images of what you have to look forward to below!

Stunning little dressing table!
I am quite in love with this mirror!

Another thing im in love with lately is artwork featuring horses...
(i never got over my little girl horse obsession)

when i grow up i want a library...

My name is sally.
and im addicted to books.
i love them.
sometimes i buy them just to sit there and look at them
(i dont actually read all of them)

When i grow up id like a library room/wall in my house

(the one in the picture above - including the curtain & ladder will do nicely!)

I might even colour code my books

And put one of my buddhas with them to keep them company.

what if you wanted a book from the bottom?

Id have nice chairs & coral in the bookshelf aswell...

And a ladder cause im short
(or 'fun sized' as i saw it refered to the other day!)

Oh a mezzanine level would be a perfect library
add a great lounge chair & lamp & were set!

Saw this little note Jamie from i suwanne has on display in her shop 'Furbish'
i wholly agree! thanks for the wisdom Jaime!

Beautiful bicycles...

Lately ive been a little obsesssed witht the idea of aquiring a beautiful white vintage bike with a basket.....
this is the way i see myself cruising up to the shops to get milk/coffee/papers.
im sure in reality it will not be quite so glamourous
....nor will there be a dirt road or an orchard ;)

I had my eye on this stunner on ebay but sadly it sold for a bit more than i had in my bike budget... :(
How gorgeous is it!
I love the colour + the basket + the leather seat
+ the little leather pouch at the back of the seat
(god knows what its for but i like it!)
I have been 'told' that when i sell my mountain bike
(which im now too scared to ride due to the numerous stacks ive had!)
i can buy one of these....but what if i suddenly become adventure woman again?
...unlikely...
anyone want my $1300 mountain bike?!

happy monday all xx

Wardrobes of the rich &/or famous

Now for the last of celeb week!
Some great wardrobes of celebrities...or people who have neough $$ for a fantastic one!
Not that you have to be cashed up to have a great wardrobe~
see my tips at the end of the post!

Mariah...Couldnt leave this one out!
I know shes a bit nuts but you have to love a woman who claims she works out in stillettos! lol

Nikki Hilton
love that she has matched her outfit to the hangers for the shoot
2 nice items for the dream wardrobe,
1.a nice chair to sit on whist putting on fab heels
2. fresh flowers!
I love the central storage - id keep my accessories in here!
With drawer inserts for jewellery.
(hmmm this person has alot of white shirts?!)
Aerin Lauder - LOVING that desk too!
A study/wardrobe room would be a nice way to surround yourself with things you love!

Now this is my style!
Mirrored central unit, orchid & a shoe wall!

Mirrored doors not only create space but are an obvious feature for a wardrobe!
Also love the chandeliers, natural lighting & central ottoman in here!

Great colours & Love those doors!
(i think id prefer to have most things hidden behind doors though)

& last but not least
.....we all know this one right?!?!
You dont have to be totally cashed up to have a great wardrobe though! Here are some tips to keep your wardrobe in order!
1. A 6 monthy 'cull'
If you dont love it, wear it or need it put it in a clothing bin for someone not as fortunate
OR sell things on ebay! I do this regulary & then you can make a bit of extra cash!
2. Good Hangers
Those wire hangers are not good for our clothes!
(& let face it they're ugly!)
The best hangers for your clothes are wooden ones - they arent expensive as you think - ikea have packs of 10 for about $8, or there are thicker white plastic ones at bunnings that will also be better for your clothes (& eyes) than the wire ones!
3. Shoe Racks
Lets try to keep our shoes in order & not in a pile!
This way you can easily see what you have & keep them in good condition.
Shoe racks can be purhcases at ikea, freedom, bunnings etc & sit at the bottom of your cupboard OR you could put in MDF shelves (very easy) and display your shoes in an open section!
4. Bags
Some of us spend a fair bit on bags, so when they are in the cupboard keep them in the dustbags they came in to keep them looking good!
5. Accessories
Keep scarves, belts etc in their own drawer or basket.
I store mine in a hanging shoe storage unit so i can see them all!
Ikea have some GREAT accessories storage items at the moment!
i especially love the felted pull out (they come with runners) jewellery stoarage comparments!

I have died & gone to house heaven.....

wow. wow. WOW!
This is possibly my dream house!
The french holiday home of fasion designer John Rocha.
sigh......

Beautiful lap/infinity pool detail -
infact ive discussed this with my boss & we might steal this one for a future job!great juxtaposition of the black pool & the white pavers and
i looooove the laser cut seat!
the fact that simply its shadow creates an artwork on the ground is stunning!
I love these stunning cadles - the glow on the white walls at dusk is just divine!

The firepot gives such a relaxed holiday feel
I can just see myself sitting under that bamboo!
Lets not forget great interesting art, flowers & silverware!
Lush greenery against the stark white - stunning.
Outdoor crystal chandleir...need i say anymore!
love the look of a large stone bowl filled with flowers & the gorgeous white shutters

The tiling flows from indoors to out.

OH.MY.GOD

(so oh my god infact it warranted changing my text colour!)
Am on the verge of having a heart attack over how much i adore this house!
The chandeleir in the garden, the wet edge lap pool, the clean white lines, the glow of the candles, the greenery of the palm trees, tha laser cut seat at the end of the pool, the fire pit!

its too much!
