African Safari!

Hi everyone, after a month off I'm back from my African adventures! 

I had an amazing trip, Africa is definitely a land that provides many contrasts & puts a lot into perspective in life. I thought i would share some of my photos across a few posts. Before the climb of Kilimanjaro, a few of us did a 3 day safari through the Lake Manyara National Park, Tarangire National Park & Ngorongoro Crater {all in northern Tanzania}. We saw almost every animal you would expect to see except for a leopard & a cheetah. It was quite hard to get your head around the fact that the animals were actually in the wild! We were also really lucky to see lion cubs - they are usually born around november so it was rare to see them at this time of year. They were extremely cute & were actually making meowing noises! We stayed in different lodges every night but by far our favourite was the Maramboi tented camp {which is in the images below}. It was exactly what i imagined a safari lodge to be like - so much atmosphere... Id stay there again in a flash! The animals weren't bothered by the trucks at all & when we came across an animal we would slow down or stop & turn the engine off & just let them do their thing - we had lions & elephants literally 30cm away from us! 

I have tried to narrow down my 100's of animal photos to give you  same of what it was like :)

Wednesday Wisdom - Kilimanjaro Edition!

Today is the day! 

At 9pm tonight i fly out to Tanzania to attempt to summit Mount Kilimanjaro

I thought for this edition of 'wednesday wisdom' id share a few that will be relevant to my next 3 weeks!

Burnt Orange Spring/Summer Fashion Event

On Thursday 29^th August, BURNT ORANGE in Mosman will be holding a special evening to showcase their Spring/Summer womenswear, menswear, childrens clothing, accessories and homeware collections, from 5pm to 8pm. I love going to burnt orange with my girlfriends for brunch & then having a browse through their gorgeous shop.

My friend Lydia-Jane Saunders will be the guest stylist at the event. 

There will be mini-manicures by a Butter London manicurist whilst enjoying delicious Champage and Canapes.  Some of the brands available in the shop include Cote Table, Avoca, Lazybones, Nordal, Sophie Conran, Anna Gare bakeware & a range of gorgeous interiors & cook books. to make it better a 10% discount applies on the night.

Cotton On Kids Summer Launch

Last Friday i was lucky enough to be invited along to preview the Cotton On Kids summer range.

Despite the fact that i don't yet have any little ones myself, its hard not to swoon over how cute all their clothes are! 

Luckily i have a niece & girlfriends with babies to spoil!

We were run through some of the range coming out for Xmas by one of the buyers. 

Some of the inspirations for this range were Babushkas, Sport Luxe & Tropicana!

Here are a few of my favourite pieces coming out in October;

This cool geometric dress (that comes with bloomers underneath)

If this was an adult size, i would be wearing it myself!

Ballerina skirts with graphic prints under the tulle

And this little number which would be the perfect Xmas dress i think!

Now for some things already in store - Heaps of great coloured & printed jeans for summer. 

We were told that the denim is really soft & comfy for the kids & newer styles will be embellished with patches etc  

I loved the dark blues ones below, they look like animal print, but on closer inspection its hearts :)

And last but not least my favourite little ruffle bum pants! 

They come in a whole bunch of cool prints & stripes.

I have bought a few of these for my niece & think they are just the cutest thing ever!!

I just love Cotton on Kids - its my go to place for kids gifts.

I really cant think of anywhere else that has such cool designs at such an affordable price....

I need a child to dress!!!!

Me in the Local Paper!

My local paper {The North Shore Times} ran a story about me & our Mount Kilimanjaro climb today.

I did a 20km hike this morning & came home to find it in my driveway! Nice surprise.

Ok, so we all know about my love of Paris.

Ok I'm going to stop gushing now...a bit sad when sheets get you this excited.....
