Waterford Crystal Interiors Collection Launch

Last night i attended the launch of the Waterford Crystal Interiors Collection.
It was one of the most divine events i think I've ever been to!
English designer Jo Sampson has designed a range of homewares (think crystal side tables, lamps & mirrors!) for Waterford.
She gave a great speech about how we can bring crystal into modern interiors & indeed everyday life,
not just hidden away in our 'special' cabinets! Oh Jo, i so agree! The table settings were heart racingly beautiful;
Loads of crystal (of course!) white flowers (by Grandiflora), mirrors, candles & hand done calligraphy place cards. it was truly divine!

A sea of Waterford Crystal Clarendon Ruby Champagne flutes - so decadent!

The table settings were to die for!

The stunning place cards!
The tumblers are the Waterford Lismore Tumblers

 Flowers by Grandiflora.
The candles you can see will be part of the new collection. Not only are they gorgeous scents like Jasmine, but they are in gorgeous heavy cut crystal vessels that can be re used after.

Dessert was served in the Waterford Lismore Champagne Saucers

One of the most amazing lotus flowers that adorned the tables by Saskia Haeves of Grandiflora

The Everygirl features Megan Gonzales {maemae paperie}

One of my 'go to' reads for inspiration are the career features over at The Everygirl.
Not only are they an interesting look into the careers & development of a tonne of inspiring gals from many different fields, but the photography is just to die for! I drooled over every single one of these images in their feature on Megan Gonzales of MaeMae Parperie!
As a small business owner myself i find these stories very inspiring!

Rug for sale!

Its time for a change & I'm selling our gorgeous Ikea Stockholm Figur rug.
Still in stores for $699, I'm happy to take $350 for it (or make me an offer!)

Its 100% wool which makes it not only gorgeous & thick (& warm!) but naturally stain repellant!
The colour is just divine! We had it in our dining room but would also look fab in the living room or kids bedrooms!
Ive listed it on ebay, but if any blog readers are interested email me on sally@sallyrhysjones.com

Wardrobe organisation

Every few months i tend to go through my wardrobe & take some stuff to the carity bins & put some stuff aside to take to the markets.
I thought this was quite a good guide to the classics for your wardrobe!
Although some things aren't very 'me' - don't think you'll find me in a pearl necklace or polo shirt any time soon!

Exciting news....

And no, I'm not pregnant!
(seems to be the first thing that has come into peoples minds!)

I have just found out that ive been selected as the Australian member for an international team of 8 Type 1 diabetics to climb mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania (yes, Africa!!!) this August....thats in 6 months!!!
I was contacted by the French organisers last week after they'd been told about the trek i organised to Everest base camp
in Nepal a few years ago (some photos here if you are interested!). It's all been a bit of a whirlwind and still hasn't quite sunken in yet!
I, of course accepted, & am pretty darn excited!

We will be testing our blood at altitude & being filmed by a French documentary crew, with the aim of the trip being to show other Diabetics, or indeed other people with chronic illnesses, that you don't need to let it hold you back from great adventures & achievements in life!

Anyway, stay tuned! Im off to the gym - training starts today!
