Europe - Here we come!

It all starts tomorrow morning at 6am, yes, you heard correctly, we have to be at the airport at 3am…
We are off to Europe for 10 WEEKS!!!! First stop Italy.
More precisely, first stop Milan & out into the Dolomites to chase the Giro D'italia {go Cadel!}
The ten weeks will take in Northern Italy, Southern France, Northern Spain, Croatia & finish with a week in Paris..
I shall be taking my laptop so i can share our adventures with you {wifi permitting!}
It won't be 'once daily', but i will try to check in at least once a week & torture you with photos {hehe}
No doubt i'll be instagramming the heck out of this trip {follow me on @sally_rhys_jones}
Au revoir Australia….

Balcony Inspo.

Ive decided to leave doing anything with our new balcony till we get back from our trip.
Im sure the plants wouldn't appreciate being abandoned for 3 months!
I love the look of simple big (white?) planters with sculptural looking plants
(frangipanis, palms, fiddle leaf figs etc)
And also want to do some big pots of herbs.

Guest Room

At the moment our spare room consists of the following;
Art that hadn't been hung yet
A bed with no bedhead
All our bits & pieces we have been getting out to pack for our trip.
In short it looks like a dump!

When we return I'm going to get to work making it a great guest room!

Dream House {Nick Noyes Architecture}

I am besotted with this house by Nick Noyes Architecture that i spotted on the Cococozy blog.
This could quite possibly be my dream house - i could just move right in!

'Located on Fitch Mountain with expansive views of the Alexander valley,
 this single family residence is composed of four iconic metal-roofed gabled wings that are connected by an open breezeway
& transparent entry & passage zones fabricated from a steel window & door system'.

Nike Roshe Runs

As our big trip draws closer (8 days till we leave eeeekkkk) i am thinking carefully about what to pack.
When we arrive in Italy it will be close to zero & will probably snow in some of the mountain areas we will be in…..but, by the time we get into France its going to be warm…and then by the end of the trip 10 weeks later it will be full blown summer!

You see the dilemma here! I want to pack light, but need to pack for all seasons!
So I'm trying to put together some serious multitasking outfits to lighten the luggage.
Have you bought anything lately that you find you wear ALL THE TIME?

I decided to invest in a pair of these Nike Roshe Runs in black.
There will be a lot of walking. Last time we walked pretty much all day, every day.
(good for working off the calories…not so good for the feet. hello blisters)
I saw so many images of these teamed with casual clothes that i thought i could kill two birds with one stone!
I can run in them AND wear them for long days of walking in comfort without looking like Seinfeld (you know what i mean right?)

ADORE {The Book!}

There are so many exciting things happening at the moment!
One of which is the long anticipated launch of the ADORE book.
I am so thrilled for Loni who hosted a pozzible campaign to get the book funded.
My copy arrives yesterday & its full of amazing homes, spaces & general gorgeousness….
AND my old apartment {and ME!} feature in the book!
My house….and me…in a BOOK! Crazy.
{my nanna is going to order about 50 copies! Which you too can do here from the Adore Shop}

Heres a little taste!
